Did you know that Jane Austen was born and lived in Hampshire, less than ten miles from Basingstoke?

What do you think she would make of 21st century Hampshire? Are her themes of fashion, marriage, love and gender politics still relevant to young women in today’s society? We want you to create a piece around your ideas, which will then be made into a short film.

During the day, you will get to work with three professional artists: Hampshire 2016 poet, Isabel Rogers; theatre practitioner, Sarah Brown and film maker, Ben Mills. There will be an exclusive showing of the work produced during this workshop at The Anvil in June.

All participants will have the opportunity to complete a Bronze Arts Award as part of this workshop.

This workshop is free and is suitable for children aged 13 and above. Places are limited and on a first come, first served basis, so to register please email Sarah on sarah@proteustheatre.com
