Regency Dinner & Dancing!
Dance in the same room where Jane Austen attended balls when she lived in Southampton. The Dolphin Inn was the setting for the Southampton Assembly Balls. Join us for a 3 course dinner inspired from period menus especially designed by the Dophin's head chef.
Learn the rules of the Ball, meet the Master of Ceremonies and the cream of Southampton Spa Society including the Marquis of Lansdowne and Lady Betty Craven as well as Jane Austen herself! The Ball will be led by the Duke of Wellington Dancers with music from Mrs Savages Whim.
Dressing up like Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet highly recommended!
Dinner will be served promptly at 7pm in the main Dining Room, dancing commences at 8.15pm in the Jane Austen Suite. Pause for pudding at 9.30pm. More dancing at 10pm. Carriages at 11pm. Regency dress code. (Costumes available to hire from Express Yourself Costume Hire in Netley)
This is part of the Southampton Jane Austen Festival - The Stinking Fish of Southampton.
