Many paintings of Southampton Castle do not depict the medieval fortification but the Gothic inspired residence of the notorious Marquis of Lansdowne, who among other things was Jane Austen's landlord. Find out more about the eccentric Lord Lansdowne.

One of a programme of talks put together for The Stinking Fish of Southampton Jane Austen Festival, hosted in the Georgian Room of Tudor House.
Each talk lasts approximately 30 minutes throughout the day from 11.15am - 3.30pm, places are limited and are on a first come first served basis. All the talks have a link to Jane Austen's time in Southampton.
