The Austen Patchwork coverlet is a key object in the museum collection, providing greater insight into the domestic and daily lives of the Austen family. As part of our Heritage Lottery Funded project, the quilt has undergone major conservation work to preserve it for future generations. Enjoy an exclusive visit to view the returned patchwork coverlet in-situ, followed by a fascinating talk on the construction and history of the quilt with Sue Dell. Heritage Activities Project Manager, Lucy Bailey, will also give an insight and update on the creation of a new community quilt to be displayed at the museum in 2018.
